Sleep and relaxation are two physical states that are very important for human beings. When our atttempts at relaxation fail and our sleep quality is poor, all facets of our lives suffer. Stress and sleep deprivation lead to decreased stamina, more frequent illness, and higher levels of depression. Our personal relationships usually suffer also.

Relaxation can help turn off negative thoughts. It can quiet the mind and body, allowing us to slip quietly into the transition state between waking and sleep, making it easier to then enter Stage 1 sleep, then Stage 2 and deep sleep, and ultimately dream sleep.
Using relaxation to help induce sleep can lead us to fall asleep faster, sleep longer, and experience a bettery quality of sleep. This leads to feeling more rested in the morning, which helps improve the quality of the entire day!
